Who am I?
My name is Malcolm Houston and in January 2020 I qualified as a Level 3 Sports Massage Therapist. I am currently studying towards Level 4 Sports Therapy and following with Level 5 later in 2021. My main aim is to ensure that all clients achieve pain-free status. Since qualifying I have also achieved additional certification in Dry-Needling, Dynamic Cupping, Taping and Hot Stone Massage.
What do we do?
My treatments involve the use of deep massage, soft tissue and exercise advice to reduce aches and pains whether caused by sport, injury or simply the stresses and strains of daily life. Whether its treatment for a specific injury or you simply want to relax and unwind, there is a massage treatment suitable for everyone.
Why use Sports Massage?
My aim is to help athletes prepare their bodies for optimal performance and function well during training. Sports Massage is ideal for pre and post sports events. Deep tissue massage techniques are used to release muscular tension whether sports-related, stress-related or simply down to bad posture.
Pre-event massage: Warms up the muscles – getting the blood circulating and allowing longer workout reducing the risk of injury, increasing flexibility and a greater range of movement.
Post-event massage: Relieves muscle cramps and spasm, removes lactic acid build-up in muscles that occurs with exercise. Sports massage emphasizes the prevention and healing of injuries to the muscles and tendons
